چکیده

Transferable ZnO tetrapods were grown by an aqueous solution method. An individual ZnO tetrapod-based sensor was fabricated by in situ lift-out technique and its ultraviolet (UV) and gas sensing properties were investigated. This single tetrapod-based device responds to the UV light rapidly and showed a recovery time of about 23 s. The sensitivity of a single ZnO tetrapod sensor to oxygen concentration was also investigated. We found that when UV illumination is switched off, the oxygen chemisorption process will dominate and assists photoconductivity relaxation. Thus relaxation dynamics is strongly affected by the ambient O2 partial pressure as described. We also studied the response of ZnO tetrapod-based sensor in various gas environments, such as 100 ppm H2, CO, i-butane, CH4, CO2, and SO2 at room temperature. It is noted that ZnO tetrapod sensor is much more sensitive to H2, i-butane and CO. It is demonstrated that a ZnO tetrapod exposed to both

An electrodynamically confined single ZnO tetrapod laser

We experimentally show the viability of isolating and micropositioning ZnO-based nanostructures in an electrodynamic trap to investigate their intrinsic optical nature under atmospheric conditions. An electrospray technique is used to spray a dilute solution of ZnO tetrapods in methanol into an electrodynamic “endcap” trap. Subsequent tuning of trapping parameters, as the methanol evaporates, l...

High-efficiency cascade CdS/CdSe quantum dot-sensitized solar cells based on hierarchical tetrapod-like ZnO nanoparticles.

Quantum dot-sensitized solar cells (QDSCs) constructed using cascade CdS/CdSe sensitizers and the novel tetrapod-like ZnO nanoparticles have been fabricated. The cascade co-sensitized QDSCs manifested good electron transfer dynamics and overall power conversion efficiency, compared to single CdS- or CdSe-sensitized cells. The preliminary CdS layer is not only energetically favorable to electron...

ZnO Tetrapods: Synthesis and Applications in Solar Cells

Zinc oxide (ZnO) tetrapods have received much interest due to their unique morphology, that is, four arms con‐ nected to one centre. Tetrapod networks possess the excellent electronic properties of the ZnO semiconductor, which is attractive for photoelectrode materials in energyconversion devices because of their advantages in electron extraction and transportation. In this review, we have disc...

Optimized performances of tetrapod-like ZnO nanostructures for a triode structure field emission planar light source.

Tetrapod-like ZnO (T-ZnO) nanostructures were synthesized by a simple vapor phase oxidation method without any catalysts or additives. We optimized the performances of T-ZnO nanostructures by adjusting the partial pressure of Zn vapour in the total pressure of the quartz chamber and obtained T-ZnO nanostructure materials of high purity, uniform morphology and size and high aspect ratio with a l...
